Coin Magic Tricks - Playing with Three Fly

Coin Magic Tricks Blog presents:

Coin Magic Tricks – Three Fly I Try

Totally Out of Control - Chris Kenner

Before magic trick downloads, DVD video tutorials and YouTube, you learned magic tricks through books and if you were lucky – a few magic mentors.

I saw Chris Kenner’s awesome coin work on the Theory11.com site and saw a few of his signature effects available for download – Hellbound Spellbound and Three Fry.
Fortunately, I had a copy of Totally Out of Control and worked through these little gems.

Below is just a practice session of Long Gone Silver with a little bit of Three Fry mixed in.  The original Kenner effect in Three Fry is similar to the coin production sequence but it included a coin change kicker ending.  This montage is a mix of Long Gone Silver (but without the wand).  If you’re a coin fan, you gotta have a copy of Kenner’s Totally Out of Control…great coin magic tricks between those pages!

Murray: Everything I Do On AGT Is The First Time I’m Doing It

Coin Magic Trick Blog mention:

It is refreshing to see some ENTERTAINING magic acts on America's Got Talent.

Murray Sawchuck is determined to win America’s Got Talent by employing a very unique strategy. Instead of trying to shoehorn tried and true bits from his act, he’s borrowing bigger and bigger props from connections around town and betting that he can get the performance good enough by air time. We’ve heard this from folks around Vegas, but this is the first time it’s been confirmed from the horses mouth.

Credit to Mike Weatherford for getting it on the record:

So Murray put away his card tricks and droll humor. “Everything I’m doing on the show, it’s the first time I’ve ever done it.” And that means “phoning a lot of friends.”

So far, he has borrowed a cabinet illusion, a magic car and a tiger.

Four magicians, not currently gigging, denied him warehoused car illusions he wanted to rework in his own style. It was Lance Burton and illusion builder Bill Smith who said yes. “One of the top magicians in Vegas was nice enough and secure enough to say ‘Sure.’ “

To say this is the most interesting season for magicians on America’s Got Talent for magicians is an understatement. We could not be more pumped for things to go forward.

Black Tiger, blue Vintage 1800 face off in card battle: Decks available for ...

Coin Magic Tricks Blog mentions:

I recently bought a half dozen of the Blue Vintage 1800s. They go great with Ron Bauer's Worn Out Deck Presentation.

Black Tiger, blue Vintage 1800 face off in card battle: Decks available for almost half price
Two tried-and-true, street-tested, tough-as-nails decks of Ellusionist playing cards are about to duke it out for your enjoyment.

The white-pip Black Tiger: The original deck that started today’s craze of high-quality, custom playing cards has stuck its claws into thousands of magicians’ hands. These original bad boys are eye-catching black beauties that scream power, like a custom-built chopper, rumbling and ready for the road.

The blue Vintage 1800: Magicians worldwide keep scooping up these decks because they look like magical, ancient artifacts that were hidden for more than 100 years. But they only look beat up: Inside each cracked, faded, weathered box is a deck that’s ready to handle your most difficult knuckle-busting moves.

Both of these decks are available for 45 percent off, but for only the next two days. Fill up your cart before midnight Friday (U.S. Eastern) and throw your weight behind which deck you think should be king of the ring.

Very Sad News – J.C. Wagner Passes

Dang this sucks...great close up guy!

via Inside Magic by Tim Quinlan on 8/16/10

J.C. Wagner at his Station at The Little ClubWe were startled to learn this evening (early morning) that the incomparable passed away Sunday evening after battling colon cancer for almost 10 months.

was the Bar Magician's Bar Magician.  He published several outstanding books and DVDs each with truly commercial magic.

You may have been following 's condition on his web site.  News of his diagnosis, surgery, recovery, chemo treatments, and developments were posted on fairly regular intervals.

For a while, it seemed like there was hope against hope.  In the last week, though, we learned J.C. was moved into Hospice and his planned chemo treatment was put off.

J.C. was a regular at The Little Club on Coronado Island, California every Saturday.  He served up drinks and fantastic magic performed just inches from the astonished magician and lay patrons.

It is still a shock to us here at Inside Magic.  We will keep his family and loved ones in our prayers.

You can leave your comments and wishes in the Guest Book at J.C. Wagner's web site by going here.
